How this calculator works
Start from an hourly rate, or from a monthly salary together with the normal hours per day and working days per month, which the calculator turns into an hourly rate. That rate is multiplied by the overtime multiplier to give the overtime rate, and the overtime rate times the overtime hours gives the pay.
Frequently asked questions
How is the hourly rate found from a monthly salary?+
The monthly salary is divided by the normal hours in a month, which is the normal hours per day multiplied by the normal working days. With €1,760, 8 hours and 22 days, the hourly rate is €10.
Which multiplier should I use?+
It depends on your contract and local rules. 1.25x and 1.5x are common for weekday overtime, and 2x for Sundays or public holidays. Use Custom for any other factor.
